I received a call from a friend that owns a flight school looking for an 0-200 core so she can have it overhauled and minimize down time on her 150 by just swapping out engines.

I thought I'd buy a wrecked or storm damaged insurance salvage 150, just to get the engine as a core. Evidently, I'm not the only one with this idea. I've not been able to win a bid, even though I'm bidding way over my comfort margin. The guys in the salvage business that I talk to say they've given up on insurance auctions, as prices have gone sky high.
