So sorry to hear that Hung. It's inevitable for all of us at some point. I remember when my grandfather stopped flying after almost 65 years in the air. He would still go up with my dad once in a while but I know it wasn't the same. Not sure the details on why you are stopping but best of luck to you. I just wish you had posted this about two weeks ago. I would definitely have been interested in your airplane!

Rick, I have two offers in progress. If they don't pan out, I'll get in touch with you.

Hi Hung,
You make it soound so easy to hang up your flying days. I have been been debating selling my 1970L aerobat plane for several years and ending my PIC days. Every time I think about selling, my mind focuses on some very memorable fliht so I procaternate and let the decision float by. A large part of my life in recent years has revolved arouond aviation related new topics and rviewing old ones. The airport that I am at is a small grass strip which is like a park to us that rent there with a cook out every summer Sunday evening.
I have even make a flyer last year to pass out but the only place it has beren is on my computer. I could send it out to anybody interested in an aerobat######## OPPPPPS, maybe I just moved an inch into ending my PIC days.
How do I say goodbye to ORVella?

The decision to hang up my wings was somewhat easy because my wife made it for me grin. Recently, I have to go on insulin. My wife doesn't want me to fly if I go on insulin because she doesn't want me to have an insulin blackout and crash.

I started flying in 1995 and have been doing it continuously. I've had fun and accomplished some things: flew to 22 states, flew my plane to NYC, the Grand Canyon, SE States, almost to the Canadian/Minnesota border, flew to Clinton 11 times, competed in the flying contests a few times, even won the Nerf Drop one year with Kirk as my bombardier, flew over a hundred kids for the Wright Flight program, didn't damage my plane in 22 years and over 1200 hours grin. So, I won't miss out too much by stopping flying. Although I certainly will look up longingly at the sky when a plane flies by on a nice day.

One thing I will still have are the friends that I've made through this Club.

I am certain many more adventures await you on the other side of this one Hung. You'll also always have a warm welcome in Clinton and wherever the club family roams.

A forum member came to look at my plane this morning. He put down a deposit and will come back in a few weeks to complete the purchase and fly the plane home. So the plane will "stay in the family". I'll let the new owner make the announcement of his purchase if he so chooses.

Hung,

That's great news. Being able to make the decision to stop flying and then assure your airplane is going to stay in the Club family is a combination I think few pilots have the opportunity to make.

From what I've seen, someone is getting a VERY nice airplane.

Warmest regards and best wishes for the New Year,
Rick
