This is Ben from Canada and I am completely new to aviation.
I am looking for a Cessna 150 for my flight training and build my hours. Please let me know if anyone is selling theirs.
Any advice for a new plane owner?

I would recommend spending the money on a prebuy inspection when you do find an airplane. I skipped mine and my first annual was a little expensive due to various items getting overlooked by the last IA.

I am in Vancouver, BC. There are a lot of flight school here. But I have done some research and I decided to own a plane and get my license!

It also came with cracked seat rails and cracked nut plates in the tail cone both of which had specific Airworthiness Directives for inspection…
Get an independent IA to inspect the airplane, do not trust the last guy

I have checked with Transport Canada and it does not seem like a difficult and technical process as long as I have all the documents ready. For example, FAA Type 3A19 cert for airworthiness, signed form 337 for modification, bill of sale etc.
Does anyone know is it worth the hustle to bring one across the border? Or is it better to find one within Canada to save my time?
I actually do not mind to get one from the states if I can find a good quality plane with a fair price because I think it is a good experience to share with my friends as well as being a more outstanding candidate in job interview in the future. | | |
