WINTER IS COMING
=================

You can't get these anymore.......

The 10' power cord has alligator clips for quick attachment to a 12 volt D.C. source. A 5-foot fuel hose allows convenient connection to any LP-gas cylinder.

As shown in photograph with all original documentation. Hard Shell Carry Case.

Does not include the original 90 degree bend (you can get one at your local Home Depot / Lowes) and does not include the air delivery hose which you need to make up to suit your application/aircraft. See picture for how I did it. There are instructions in the documentation. I used AC Duct and an insulation sleeve from the home improvement store.

With a thick blanket over the cowl and no wind you can get the engine completely warmed through, oil thinned down and into "summer start" mode with about 30 mins heating.

Well looked after in storage box. Probably 40 preheats over 10 years. Almost looks new. Burner orifice recently cleaned (a 1/32" drill to remove carbon build up). Runs and heats great!

Graeme,

I have one and use it on occasion. For a while, it was ALL I had and kept me flying through the winters for years as I base OUTSIDE...especially during BOMB CYCLONE years!

Very good...nice piece of kit!

I connected all the elements and attached them to a trolly so we could move it around easier with the propane tank, etc.

It's a good heater and effective even down to 0-10 degrees F.

I'd be all over this, if I hadn't already built my own preheater.

This is a $1200 value if you bought it new.

Currently with Robert.

Mike - yep - the instructions include a couple of plans for dollies.

Jeff - well they don't make them anymore - at least not this model. I based the price on examples going on eBay.

In a later iteration (not pictured) I put insulated socks on the metal prop blades to prevent conduction/radiation losses during heating. Made a remarkable difference. Took about a third of the time off heating.

It is a really convenient and economical way to pre-heat.

I never had to go more than 45 minutes for a toasty engine, oil bag, or other components - it got ALL the various metals to the SAME TEMP (or nearly so) facilitating a smooth start!

Still have it, though now, since the airport installed POWER near my spot, I simply "plug in" to the Reif System. Still kept the DRAGON, however!
