It certainally sounds like a good starting point - with your previous requriements in mind!! - some pictures wouldn't go astray
My only comment would be....an independant inspection is a must, whilst I would not say or suggest that his mechanic might be missleading you with his appraisal, a fresh set of eyes can only be a good thing to back up his comments for your peace of mind
