LOL Mike. I don't think I know of any other airplane that leads such a polarized love/hate existence.

Bill, don't get me wrong, I actually love Colts, Pacers and Tripacers, I like there look and generally they perform well, except when you try to load up 135hp version with a bunch of weight.
I seriously looked into buying a 135hp Pacer around 6-7 years ago but the performance loaded was a deal breaker for me in the end. In 1994 I looked a Colt (it had a single back seat too) but as it turned out, it had a bent frame that I pick up when doing some measurements around the tailfeathers and drag wires
A few years prior to that - 1986/7, I actually bought a Basket Case to do a fix up, unfortunately time was against me and I onsold it to a friend of mine who actually did to the rebuilt and transformed it to a Pacer...it was a 160hp and flew great...every time I look on Barnstormers I always check out those planes to see whats around and how much people want for them in their various states of wellbeing..
Cool planes indeed, and I would have no hesitation in picking up a good 160hp if the "time and price" were right
