Freddy Williams is buying it for his panel upgrade so it's not available any longer.
Freddy's plane is currently pickled while he's away in Saudi and I'll be hand carrying the 530 to Clinton in July where I'll turn it over to Alan Blevins and Alan will haul it the rest of the way and hold it for Freddy.
To answer your questions:
1. If you're needing VOR functions (whatever a VOR is
) you'd need a Garmin CDI/VOR indicator. I didn't have this piece as this 530 was married up to an Aspen 1000.
2. Garmin still offers across the board support for the 530 with the lone exception of the WAAS upgrade. They have stopped doing the WAAS upgrade but that is probably their way of pushing us to the GTN 650/750 family.
