Royson,

Would Graeme be interested in doing a cutaway drawing of a 150-152 like this? The RV builders commissioned an artist to do cutaway drawing for their models. Here's more info on what it costs [vansairforce.net] .

I think the main problem is the up front money! They do not print with out money. Some one would have to ride it out. I am not sure about the clubs finances that it would have the money to carry the debt until sales coverd it.

AND the taildragger STC, too.

perhaps a late night visit may persuade them to reconsider their intransigence. smirk

Maybe Bengie could recommend a few "pin up" girls that could also be included in the calendar. I mean afterall, the man has good taste you know! wink

The cutaway drawings are definitely a great idea, and I plan to have some done in the future. At $500+ for each we would probably not be focusing on individual member airplanes, but rather on representative versions of the individual models.

If for example, we had cutaways done of a 1959, 1964, 1966, 1971,1976, and 1985 models in factory paint schemes, we would have representations of all the major model changes.

Once those "template" versions are completed, it would be possible for an individual owner to arrange to have a customized drawing done of their airplane based on the model template, perhaps at a lower cost.

Very Cool.

Just from my minute knowledge of reproduction rights, would the club have releases from the atist/designer, and would it apply to all members, or just the official publications?

How about if each month had a maintenance or operation tip? Maybe also a flying tip? Maybe a $100 hamburger location to fly to?

Another idea would be to compile all those Cessna Advertisements (in color) that they let Royson use in the newsletter and see if Cessna would let us make a retro calendar.
I find those pictures very compelling. And they show a cutaway, and a floatplane...stuff we just don't have.
If the thing is a success it cold be updated in a year or so.
