Looks like a nice plane at a good price, but what of that wide spread in compressions? Several hundred hours before TBO ... But is top overhaul or new cylinders coming up soon?

The "spread" would not be enough to concern me as:

1. it's minimal and

2. in the giant scheme of things, having a cylinder overhauled is not that big of a deal and

3. the 68 reading could be gone by now and

4. If the log book records indicate that this cylinders history has always been measured at this value, it's normal for this cylinder and within TCM's spec range.

But, that's just me. wink

I don't like to see a cylinder "spread" greater than 10% but I agree with Jim. Leak down checks are just ONE indicator of cylinder health at the time of the test, and are affected by a number of variables. The "trend" over a period of time is much more revealing.

Probably nothing... but the radio stack's alignment in the panel seems canted to one side... I don't know how that could be!

Ed, let us know if you get serious about this airplane. There are a couple of us within an afternoon's visiting range of Pierson airport (just an hour or so down the road from me on US17).
