I've checked the bulb, its fine so it has to be the flash unit itself. There is one under each wing tip. I have a 152, not sure if I need the Aeroflash 28v unit or the 24v unit? I'm guessing the 28v, but was wondering if anyone knew for sure...

A 24v battery is used with a 28v charging system, so you will see the same system listed as either voltage (p/n 150-0013 is listed both ways, in different parts of the ad). Either a 24v or 28v listing means the same thing.

You likely need p/n 150-0008. Get the numbers off the sticker on your existing flasher and call Spruce! Their guys and gals are pretty sharp, and should be able to steer you right with just that information.

To be sure it's the flasher, disconnect and remove it, then plug it into the other wing and test it!

Martin,

I noticed this is titled Strobes(again)...I didn't see the first part...but I'd make sure the power supply is receiving adequate voltage and that the ground is good at the wingtip.

Then, Carl is right...swap the power supplies left to right to see if that cures the problem. They aren't cheap.

Just an FYI, you can deal with aeroflash directly, I found them to be a very pleasant company to deal with.

Thanks, sorry for the wrong forum. Came in this morning and SWORE I had posted that question and then couldn't find it. Duh. At least I didn't put it in the Jokes section, ha.

I've tried the grounds and the bulbs- it flashes, just real weak and every couple of odd seconds. The right wing is fine, real solid and too bright to even look at.

Considering the cost of some of the other things I've had to do lately, $100 isnt too terrible. So far, two oil changes and a shimmy damper fix. Not too bad for 60 hrs worth of rental I guess. Got two high school kids training in it and one young lady about college age or so has just started. One of the kids is doing his cross country night flight into class C soon so I wanted to get the strobes right.
