Bonanzas are indeed, cool, but there are lot of other costs end things to go wrong. Take for instance the gear. Each year at annual, you need the retraction test. Then, there's the issue of magnesium flight controls. Also, you have a six-banger under the cowl with the constant-speed prop. Although there's a lot of 'em out there, parts are not cheap on these birds.

On the plus side, they are considerably faster than a 172 and running conservatively, are almost as cheap to operate (fuel, oil) as a 172. Plus, it's a BONANZA!!!!

One of my favorite birds - a V35. Those things are just flat-out cool. You KNOW what you're looking at, and you get to fly an airborne Caddy. grin I love 'em.
